Lloyds of London Case Study

Overview

A leading global insurance provider faced significant challenges with its digital platform, which was operating on Sitecore. The existing system suffered from poor performance, slow load times and inefficiencies that impacted marketing agility.

A collaborative effort with Deloitte Digital and Forrit enabled the organisation to modernise its infrastructure, improve campaign speed to market and enhance self-service capabilities.

The Challenge

The insurer’s website was struggling with performance issues that hindered both user experience and internal workflows. The platform was slow, cumbersome and required extensive maintenance, making it difficult for the organisation to execute marketing campaigns at speed. Additionally, the heavily regulated nature of the industry imposed constraints on digital transformation efforts, requiring a solution that could improve efficiency without unnecessary regulatory hurdles.

The Solution

Forrit, in collaboration with Deloitte Digital, undertook the task of stabilising and modernising the platform. The project focused on:

  • Infrastructure & Architecture Overhaul: Picking up the core build and architectural elements to establish a more efficient and scalable digital ecosystem.
  • Campaign Agility: Enabling faster content deployment by leveraging modernised platform capabilities, reducing time to market for campaigns. A key milestone was launching a new site within seven days, starting with only raw content.
  • Self-Service Empowerment: Implementing a system that required less ongoing maintenance and enabled the organisation’s content team to manage digital assets autonomously. This significantly reduced reliance on external teams and decreased operational headcount.
  • Headless Capability: The organisation became the first to adopt Forrit’s Headless Capability, developed in partnership with EY. This innovation allowed seamless content distribution across multiple endpoints and provided flexibility for events and digital experiences.

    Results that speak for themselves

The transformation delivered a series of tangible benefits:
  • Significantly improved platform performance with reduced load times and enhanced system stability.
  • Accelerated time to market for campaigns, enabling rapid content deployment, including a full website launch within a week.
  • Lower maintenance requirements, allowing internal teams to focus on strategic initiatives rather than platform upkeep.
  • Enhanced self-sufficiency, with content teams equipped to manage digital assets independently.
  • Regulatory compliance maintained without additional approval requirements from the PRA.
