Overview
A prominent US investment firm, known for its innovative approach to technology-focused funds, required a secure and stable digital infrastructure to support its operations. With a strong public presence and regulatory obligations, the company needed a robust online platform that could efficiently manage content while maintaining enterprise-grade security.
A major website migration and consolidation project was undertaken to streamline operations, enhance security, and improve efficiency in content publishing.
The Challenge
The firm operated across multiple websites, leading to inefficiencies and increased maintenance costs. Security vulnerabilities posed a significant risk, particularly given the regulatory scrutiny surrounding the financial sector. The need for a more resilient infrastructure was further emphasised by the importance of ensuring accurate and secure publication of investment information. Additionally, the firm sought a solution that would be cost-neutral while transitioning from a basic open-source platform to a more robust enterprise-level system.
The Solution
The project was executed in multiple phases to minimise disruption while maximising security and efficiency:
- Re-platforming and Security Overhaul: In November 2023, the firm’s primary investment site underwent a complete re-platforming, significantly improving its security posture.
- Website Consolidation: By June 2024, two additional sites—previously operating under separate domains—were consolidated, reducing the firm’s web presence from three sites to two. This streamlined management and operational costs.
- Enhanced Content Management: A new enterprise-level content management system (CMS) was introduced, enabling more efficient and stable content publishing while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
- Future Expansion & M&A Integration: A new site for an acquired entity is in development, bringing all digital assets under a unified CMS. This integration ensures a seamless transition for future mergers and acquisitions, enabling rapid content migration and standardised design protocols.
Results that speak for themselves
- The firm moved from a vulnerable open-source system to a robust enterprise-level security infrastructure.
- Content publishing became significantly more efficient, reducing administrative overhead.
- Despite the scale of the transformation, the migration and consolidation were executed in a way that maintained cost neutrality.
- With all digital assets moving to a single CMS, the firm is well-positioned to integrate future acquisitions quickly and efficiently.
